Comma Café
Celebrating pause and a new era of slowness.
Comma Café began as a backyard gathering that I started for fun (as a serious coffee lover who worked as a barista to get through grad school, and as a gal with a French grandmother and husband, any excuse to pretend I own a coffee and pastry spot is right up my alley!). It wasn’t meant to be anything big or crazy. I just wanted a place where people could slow down for a second, share something delicious, and remember what it feels like to connect in real life. With the comma servings as its logo, pause is at the center of its purpose. A small reminder to slow down and reset before moving on.
Over time, this little pretend coffee shop continues to evolve into something that feels bigger than the setup in my yard, because the people have made it evolve. People keep showing up, talking, resting, laughing, and I see more and more how much we all need more of this. To me, Comma Café serves as the tiniest most subtle lifestyle movement, a reminder to move through life with more slowness, presence, and intention instead of getting swept up in the constant pressure to perform.
As a celebration of creativity, fun, and collaboration with other likeminded small businesses, we’ve made a small run of merch with Stitch and Grain, who makes beautiful embroidered items one by one. We first connected at our own pop ups outside of a local coffee shop (Neat Coffee!), so it only felt right to create something tangible and real and fun together.
If the items speak to you, they’re there. If not, no pressure. You can sign up below to hear about the next Comma Café meetup, which will always remain the core of what this space is. Either way, you’re welcome in this little pause we’re building together.
Bring Comma Café home with you.
